Dia De Portugal 2008

This past weekend I had a booth at the annual Dia de Portugal Festival at History Park in San Jose. We met a lot of people who came from Madeira - they loved the Santana House!

Euro 2008

Ok....I am not the most versed individual when it comes to the ins and outs of sports but I do enjoy watching soccer...um....football! Euro 2008 starts this weekend and I will be cheering for Portugal! I have a soft spot for Cristiano Ronaldo since he is from Madeira. Viva Portugal!

Baseball with Brevin

I was watching the Giants game on tv and noticed a large sea of orange shirts in the bleachers. A reporter from the station went over to interview one of the orange people and found out they were a group called 'Baseball with Brevin'.

This is from their website:

As most of you know, Baseball with Brevin was started as a way to honor
our son, Brevin James Lacy who passed away April 20, 2005 due to complications
from cerebral palsy. During Brevin’s short life he was helped tremendously by the support of physical and occupational therapists. We learned first
hand the benefits of having access to the latest medical care and
treatment. We couldn’t think of a better way to honor Brevin than raising
funds to make sure children from all backgrounds had the same support he
did. NOCK, National Organization Caring for Kids, is the perfect
organization to do that. To find out more visit http://www.nockonline.org

I just though this was a great cause. We do not have any children yet but this tugged at my heart strings.

Welcome to the Jungle

Well, not quite here in the 'burbs but the closest thing I have to it!

It's such a nice day outside so I went into our backyard to take photos. We do not have a large yard but my parents managed to plant a lot! Their legacy lives on....
