On Saturday night, hubby and I put on the annual pre-tailgate dinner and party at the Hotel. This was also the same hotel the team was staying at - and, yes this was pre-planned!
On Sunday, we headed out to Candlestick Park at 8:30 am and we were set up by 9:00 am. We turned Section U of the parking lot into Seahawks Central. It was like being at a home game! At noon we started packing up and headed in to the game. We had 74 seats basically all together - and we were the largest group of Seahawks fans sitting together in the stands. And we were in the last rows of the stadium. With no one sitting behind us, we were able to stand the entire game.
By halftime, a lot of the Niner fans began leaving and by the 4th quarter, it was just about empty in the Stadium. More and more Seahawks fans came over our area to join us in the cheers - I think there was almost 300 of us by the end of the game! The SFPD had to stand at the bottom of the aisles so no more could come up. The players heard us as they were pointing up to our section! It was awesome!
Here is a photo that appeared in the Seattle Times online photo gallery. This was only half of us - and of course, hubby and I are in the half not pictured!
