Tonight was my appointment with my chiropractor. She did some aligning to my neck and shoulders and as always after an appointment with her, I feel great! She also perform a cold laser treatment on me.
I found this information online on what cold laser treatment is:
The treatment, known as "cold" laser therapy or low-level laser therapy (LLLT), has been used internationally for 18 years to treat soft tissue injuries, cervical neck pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, repetitive stress injuries, tendonitis, hamstring injuries, arthritis and wound healing, among others.
The lasers — hand-held, flashlight-like devices that direct a beam of narrow-spectrum (but not hot) light at injured tissue beneath the skin — have been integrated into medical practice in Japan, Russia and the United Kingdom. In the United Kingdom, cold laser therapy has become a preferred treatment for "whiplash" injuries, neuralgia and shingles. In Japan, the lasers were approved in 1987 and are in widespread use today.
Ok....I know it sounds odd but hey, I am open to trying new things and letting the positive energy in!
Good news....I lost 8 lbs this first week! I know that a lot of it was water weight but it feels good to step on the scale and see a smaller number than before. Hubby lost 2 lbs.
My biggest problem is keeping active and exercising. But I think I found a workout DVD that I can do a low impact workout to. It's a walking routine but a large space is not needed.
Tonight after the appointment we stopped by the local Whole Foods store. This was our first time shopping there. I just wanted to see what their selection was as far as gluten-free was. That place was busy! I am not sure if we will shop there often since they are a bit more expensive than our local supermarket.
One month from tonight is our Sea Hawker chapter annual Event! Everyday now seems like Christmas, as I am receiving items for the gift bags I am making to hand out at the Saturday night event. I always seem to go into 'stress mode' leading up to this! Hopefully my new way of thinking and living will keep me centered....lol.
